For both 2025 and 2026, the camp I use in the Mara offered me a very special price due to my support for them and my over 50 years of experience in the area. Their increase was just 3.5% against a Kenyan inflation of about 10%, so it was a real saving and resulted in unprecedented levels of interest for both years.
I am very pleased to say that not only have they repeated this generosity for 2027 but they have actually reduced the price by US$250 per person. This coupled with favourable rates in the US Dollar and UK Pound rates, means that the actual sterling reduction is £192 (as at October 2025).
See below for full pricing details.
Safari Details Spring 2027
The Massai Mara is deservedly known as Africa’s greatest wildlife reserve, and is famous for the abundance of lions, the other big cats, the Great Wildebeest Migration, a wealth of other wildlife and the Massai people. It is without a doubt Africa’s most well-known and famous safari destination. The area has featured in many excellent TV programmes, including the BBC’s long-running “Big Cat Diaries” and “Big Cat Week”, as well as the more recent Disney Nature’s “African Cats” and other African wildlife series.
Staying in luxury bush camps, the big cats will definitely be on our agenda, but we will also have ample opportunities to photograph the wide variety of other wildlife this area supports. The variety and density of wildlife, including iconic species here such as elephants, zebra, giraffe, small and large antelope and many more is unrivalled. There are also a multitude of beautiful bird species, including many raptors for you to photograph. All this in the very best lighting conditions.
Groups are limited to 8, sometimes less, and I am accompanied by my wife, another professional and published wildlife photographer to ensure you get the very best support. Join us on a very special guided photographic safari to this famous region of East Africa. Experience one of the world’s last true wildernesses and bring back your own photographs of its iconic wildlife.
With over 55 years’ experience of East Africa and photographing its wildlife, I have designed this trip specifically for the enthusiastic wildlife photographers interested in learning more about their camera and, at the same time, capturing some memorable images. We’ll be staying at Kicheche, a small and extremely comfortable classic 8 tented camp hidden in a beautiful acacia valley overlooking the Olare Orok stream.
| Camp and accomodation Photos | To call your accomodation “tents” does not do them justice – this is glamping in style – click left to open a new window to view camp and accomodation photos. One guest referred to it as a luxury hotel room with all the services and thick canvas walls. |
This intimate and relaxed atmosphere gives you the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience in this prime wildlife area of the Mara North Conservancy in luxury and comfort.
| Previous Guests Photos & Videos | In addition to providing great photographic opportunities, this tour has been carefully designed to offer a broad appreciation of the natural beauty of Africa’s wildlife, the iconic environment and the African savannah stretching as far as you can see. |
The itinerary is constructed to give the maximum time in the field in order to provide you with unrivalled experiences and the very best photographic opportunities. I am always on hand to provide photographic guidance, ad-hoc tuition and assistance when required, either in the bush or back in camp. My aim is simple, to ensure you have a highly enjoyable holiday where you can concentrate on your photography with truly unique opportunities to view and capture images of the natural world. All this whilst soaking up the very best wilderness experience in a comfortable and magical environment.
Cost for 8 night 9 day trip
Due to the current volatility in the US Dollar and UK Pound exchange rates, we have taken the decision to price the holiday in US Dollars and the airfare separately in UK pounds.
Monies you pay as a deposit will be converted on the day of transfer at that day’s exchange rate. If you require, this rate can then be “pegged” as the rate to be used when the balance is paid, thus ensuring you know the total price of your holiday in sterling in advance. Alternatively, you can take a risk with the exchange rates prevailing at the time your balance is due.
COSTS 2027
African element US$8,200 approx £6,143 (exchange rate as at 5th December 2025)
Plus international economy flights from £850
I am very pleased that, for the last 2 years, the camp has kept its price increases much lower for me than for other safari organisers and other camps. This year they have gone even further still and reduced it by US$250 per person, which reflects the excellent relationship I have with this wonderful camp. Coupled with the current favourable US dollar and UK pound exchange rates, this represents a massive £188 saving on 2026 prices.
Inflation is going backwards for once !
(unlike some other providers, we provide all inclusive prices including all air fares from London Heathrow, local internal transfers, full board accommodation, laundry, park fees, guiding fees etc. See detailed itinerary for more information).
