This workshop is deliberately scheduled to offer an opportunity to photograph the birds and especially owls into the magical evening light or “golden hour” in the summer. The session is scheduled to start at 2 PM and run through into the evening. The workshop will start with sessions with birds of prey in different situations e.g. feeding on prey then as the light changes we will progress to photographing owls in the evening light.
In common with my other bird of prey workshops this one is held at a private bird of prey centre, 10 miles north of Northampton, which provides the opportunity to photograph a truly unique range of birds. Unlike most other centres most of these birds are trained and actively used for teaching falconry, falconry experiences and hunting so are in excellent condition, very keen and fit. The centre is located on a splendid 3,000 acre private estate providing us with excellent opportunities to photograph birds in a wide range of natural settings.
As a falconer and professional wildlife photographer with considerable experience with birds of prey I will provide tuition appropriate to the bird and scenario especially managing evening light throughout the workshop. To ensure that everyone gets the best angles and opportunities when taking photos numbers on this trip will be strictly limited.
This is a very special and always popular workshop.
